“When we engage in the souls work we are inspired and our hearts abound with joy. The creative life is a path to move people to great things. Through art and soulful work we can change the world.”~RWTWH
Over 2 years ago we started this journey with 4 people, some candles and a hope for freedom for Wild Horses and Burros. That night in the fall of 2011 we paid homage to Miss Velma Johnson (Wild Horse Annie) on a picnic table at Morningstar Ranch. This small vigil served as an awakening to our souls work. It was a true testament that with great love…great things can manifest. Our participation in Return to Freedom’s Wild Horses and Wild Flowers Event in early May, was proof that with when you find your souls true work, magnificent things can happen.
Return to Freedom is a wonderful 300 acre sanctuary for wild horses located in Lompoc California. Indian legend says that the Jalama valley where the ranch sits is a vortex for souls who have passed. You can feel the energy when you enter the valley. The annual Wild Horses and Wild Flowers event is a fabulous tribute to wild horses and highlights the work of Return to Freedom. To be surrounded by a group of like minded individuals who are working together to help protect and ensure freedom for wild horses and burros was an awesome experience.
We witnessed Neda DeMayo, the founder of RTF, deliver her speech before the release of the herds and we were ever more inspired and moved by her message and the profound passion behind her work. What a great leader and spokeswoman for this Wild Horses! The highlight of the event was the indian prayer and the release of the herds into the hills. To experience this….was absolutely magical. The joy and perfection with which the horses carried themselves up into the hills brought tears to our eyes. There was a knowing in our hearts that this is how it should be. Nature has designed this perfectly….Lead mares so confident moving swiftly…up and away from the civilized world…young foals confidently running with their mothers and stallions moving so confidently and proud with their families. A beautiful picture of freedom so eloquently displayed. It reminded us that Nature is perfect in its design.
We are ever more motivated and energized to support RTF and The American Wild Horse Preservation Campaign.
To all of you out there who support this work..BRAVO…we are on the right path!!! Dana and Viv
